Slightly Urgent - (Nov. 29) We have so much laundry to wash! Can
you help? Click here!
Choose how you want to serve.
There are a variety of fun, easy ways you can help out and make a difference in the lives of UCM international students. Choose what works best for you, and sign up here!
1. Donation Pick-UpOn Friday, December 7th, from 4:30-6 pm, we need volunteers to drive to UCM Residence Halls, load full donation bins into their cars, and deliver the full donation bins to the Hudson building. If you don't have a car and still want to assist with this, we can pair you with a driver - it takes two to lift those donation bins!
3. Deliver to LocalsWhile sorting donations, we will find some items that international students will not use. These items will be redistributed to Warrensburg's Big Brothers Big Sisters Club and Goodwill to benefit the Warrensburg community. We need drivers to deliver these donations on December 12th.

2. Donation OrganizationOn Tuesday and Wednesday, December 11-12, we will organize and clean all the newly received donations. Many hands make light work, so the more volunteers, the better! It's really fun to see what kinds of things students leave behind, and also sheds some light on the types of items students need during their time at UCM.
We will have four different sessions in order to accommodate volunteers who work during the day - stay tuned for exact times. 4. Do Some LaundryAfter donations have been sorted, there will be a lot of laundry to do! (Don't worry - just bedding and towels.) Sign up to take a bin (or 2!) of laundry home with you (or to the laundromat) to ensure that international students can receive clean bedding for their first night at UCM.
*We may be able to provide laundry detergent to volunteers. If you want to do laundry but need detergent, please let us know! |
5. Distribution Day |
|
Want to see the very students this project works to serve? Be present for distribution day, January 8th, 2019. This is Day 1 of Orientation for incoming international students, so this is the day students will collect donations. We need volunteers to help set up beforehand (around noon) and pack up remaining items (around 4 pm). We also need volunteers to help students carry their items back to their housing (walking or driving). This is a great opportunity to begin friendships with new students and welcome them to their new homes!
